Daydreaming takes up at least 1 hour per day, but it can take up to 4 hours if my daydreams are interesting enough, which they are for the most part. It usually happens before I fall asleep, but sometimes it can happen throughout the day too. When I start daydreaming sometimes isn't fully in my control, it can start because of a certain word, sound, smell, setting, you name it. I can control it if there is something more important happening, but if I can, I let myself daydream. Anything with the potential to make a good story will most likely become a daydream.
There is a main story line in every world or universe that I make up. There are reocurring main and side characters, certain settings like parks and buildings.
That all is what I call canon - something that happens in the main story. There can be side stories in the worlds with the main cast that are undecided or not canon at all.
That is what I call a spin-off or canon-divergent - something that was made up just because it seemed interesting but doesn't actually happen in the story.
Right now I have around five "worlds" that I would like to expand and make a legit story about and around like 20 characters that I made with their distinct personalities, hobbies
families, friends and even voices. Fun fact I can imitate anyone's voice in my head and make them say stuff they wouldn't normally say. It makes it a lot easier to make dialogues
between the characters.
